LISA PETTY.
Lisa Petty is an Australian movement director, choreographer and intimacy director based in Melbourne. After training in dance and theatre, Lisa worked in New York with numerous contemporary, jazz and musical theatre companies. In Australia, Lisa has collaborated with both professionals and students working extensively as a movement director and choreographer across a wide range of styles in theatre and universities. Companies include Melbourne Opera, National Theatre, Opera Australia, Victoria, Sturt and Monash Universities, VCA, Arts Centre Melbourne and Playback Theatre. Lisa trained as a Intimacy Director/Coordinator with the highly respected Intimacy Directors and Coordinators in the USA and has worked as an intimacy professional on a wide range of projects across theatre, opera and film. Lisa has completed significant research into the role dancehalls played in the lives of those who remained on WWII Australian home front. The dance-theatre performance Dear Ida was created as a result of this work.
